Product Life-cycle Management

Product Life-cycle Management (PLM) includes all stages from require-management and product concepts to the recycle process at the end of a product’s life-cycle. Many different parties are involved in the lifetime of a product, all with one important demand in common, i.e. getting access to the latest accurate information for making the right decision in different situations.

Studies have shown that up to 40% of an engineer’s working time is spent on searching for information already at hand. Development time and costs for a new product can radically be reduced if already developed components and information would be used. Access to the latest correct and reliable information therefore is a crucial competitive advantage in developing, producing, and marketing a product.

Well developed standard IT-support systems for PLM are available today. All companies though are different and implementing a PLM system in one company differs from that in another. Extensive knowledge and experience of implementing PLM systems are needed to secure the intended result, whether to reduce the product development time, enhance the cooperation with the suppliers or reduce the use of recourses.

In Senseboard we have a solid knowledge and experience of implementing IT-support systems for PLM in a number of different businesses, e.g. the telecom, automotive, construction och apparel industries.

We can support your company in finding the right system for your business and in creating the relevant requirement specifications.
